McCamish Pavilion is the 2012 reincarnation of Georgia Tech's "Thrillerdome" built in the 1950s. The Atlanta Business Chronicle noted, "The McCamish Pavilion renovation is an example of a project that respects the history of a structure while making it more functional now and for the future." Nearly the entire structure is brand-new, with the one notable exception being the familiar dome of Alexander Memorial Coliseum and its 32 steel ribs, which stayed in place and provided the skeleton for the new structure. All seating is fixed and three models help to separate sections from one another.
