At a glance, McLain High School for Science and Technology provides 34 extracurricular activities, 18 advanced placement offerings, and 14 athletic programs to 711 students. This helps build meaningful relationships to create strong foundations so students will be successful in their post-secondary futures.

In 2023 an update to the school's auditorium included 963 Patriot VIP chairs (model 30.12.8.8). The seating included No. 12 seats with an ergonomic substrate upholstered with Absecon Mills Shire Black Marble fabric. Plastic components were supplied in black and the steel standards were powder coated (painted) in charcoal grey.
