Illinois State University's Redbird Arena opened in 1989 with a unique Teflon coated roof that glows during night events. In 2019 a new VersaTract telescopic system was installed in the lower bowl. VersaTract's premium seat options provide comfort to the fans and the quick release rail system that VersaDeck offers to speed up change-over times for the crew. The system was also provided with two chair types (Citation & Integra), aluminum decking, end curtains and demountable decks with forward-fold Citation chairs for the first row.
