The Tacoma Dome is one of the largest wooden geodesic domes in the world. The arena opened in 1983 and a two-year renovation that wrapped up in late 2018 included 23,000+ new fixed and telescopic seating from Irwin Seating Company. The upper decks are installed with 115.115.25.25 Solara chairs. The VersaTract telescopic platforms include Integra chairs, Smart Rails, aluminum decks, LED aisle lights, front row steps and VersaDeck for quick, simple and secure attachment of rails. In addition to the telescopic stands, Irwin Seating supplied the structure and decking for the stationary platforms located behind the VersaTract system. These decks helped to improve rear access to the seating while providing space for large groups attending an event.
