Campus Instructional Facility

UI CIF IMG 6302

The Campus Instructional Facility (CIF) is a center for learning designed to meet the changing needs of students and faculty at the University of Illinois. This innovative teaching hub enables collaboration and incorporates new technologies for hands-on learning. CIF features a large gathering space and many flexible classroom spaces with movable partitions and furniture.

Irwin supplied the CIF with seating for two rooms, including a large 460-seat auditorium designed with great sight lines and ample space. The smaller space was created with the podium centered in the room with 186 chairs arranged in a circular pattern to help promote collaboration and discussion.

Both rooms are installed with Irwin model 90.12.14.4 Citation chairs equipped with self-storing writing tablets. Backs and seats were upholstered with Abercrombie Marvel Navy fabric, writing tablets are finished with Nevamar Sienna Essence and all other materials are black.
