Seating Configurations
The configuration of a space used for public assembly is usually determined by desired capacity and use, i.e. house of worship, school, arena, concert venue, etc. A small space may be fine with straight rows on a flat or sloped floor, but as the need for capacity increases the use of radii, treads and risers, or balconies (or some combination) is often used to improve the patron experience, safety, sightlines and to save space.
